Program Overview - Level 2 420 - (Advanced 420s):
This course is designed to introduce students to a larger class of boat, 420s, which consists of a skipper and a crew.  The boat is best sailed by students over 95 lbs and with previous experience in Opti sailing.  This course though is also appropriate for older novice students who are too large to begin their sailing experience in Optimists (in this case, both age and size of the novice should be discussed with the Manager during registration).  Curriculum will focus on rigging, efficient sailing, upwind and downwind sailing, and boat handling. After completing this course, students are prepared to continue on to Advanced 420.
